Dance through it

I've noticed that I'm creating things the same way as when I was 5 or 6. I remember making story books, starting them really enthusiastic and then wanting to finish them really really fast. I'm proud of myself for letting things be when I turn on turbo mode. Baby steps I tell myself.

It's been quite therapeutic to notice my own tendency to push things, force them. I've learned it's important to dance through the creation process. Forget that you aim for something coherent. It'll come. I learn to trust the process even if it seems a bit chaotic at times.

It's a fine line between relaxed work and just being too sloppy. I find that the only solution is just letting things grow in their own time. If you want a lesson in patience make a story book or some other project that you have to return to again, and again, and again. I guarantee that it'll be eye opening.
